Meet Leonard Hill: Our Founder, Managing Partner, and Heart of the Firm

Let’s start with the man who started it all: Leonard Hill. Before he ever stepped into a courtroom, Leonard spent eight years as a middle school teacher in some of the most underserved communities in the country. His work was so impactful that it was featured in The New York Times. That passion didn’t disappear when he became a lawyer; it just evolved.

Leonard graduated from Morehouse College in Atlanta with honors and then earned his law degree from Temple University School of Law, where he trained in the world-renowned Temple University NITA Trial Program.

He went on to earn an LL.M. in Trial Advocacy from Temple’s Beasley School of Law, a degree so rare that fewer than 1% of attorneys nationwide hold it.

Leonard is also a member of the American Association for Justice and the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association, and he’s trained in mediation and arbitration, which means whether your case goes to court or settles outside of it, you’ve got someone who knows how to get you the best result possible.

David Maselli 

David Maselli has been practicing law for over 30 years, and this is evident in the confidence and clarity he brings to every case. He’s one of our senior trial attorneys, and he focuses exclusively on helping people who’ve been seriously injured.

David earned his law degree from Villanova University School of Law back in 1993. Before that, he studied business at the University of Miami, which gives him an edge when it comes to understanding the numbers behind injury claims.

David has got a big heart and an unwavering dedication to his clients. He’s the steady hand you want guiding you through the storm.

Susan Bellwoar Ayres 

Susan (Sue) Bellwoar Ayres is the kind of lawyer who brings both experience and empathy to the table. She’s been fighting for injured clients for over 15 years, but what makes her story special is that she actually started out on the other side.

In her early legal career, Sue worked defending big corporations and insurance companies. But she had a change of heart. She realized she wanted to be on the right side of the courtroom, standing with the people who were hurt, not the ones trying to deny them justice. So she switched sides, and she’s never looked back.

Sue joined Hill & Associates in 2010, and she’s since helped hundreds of clients get justice in cases involving medical malpractice, workplace injuries, premises liability, and civil rights violations.

She’s not just passionate; she’s fierce. And when she’s fighting for you, she brings every ounce of that courtroom experience to your side.

Minos H. Galanos 

Minos Galanos is another attorney who made the switch, and we’re lucky to have him. For more than a decade, Minos worked on the defense side, representing corporations and insurance companies. He knows exactly how those entities operate: the tricks, the tactics, the ways they try to avoid responsibility.

But Minos didn’t want to spend his career helping the powerful stay powerful. He wanted to help people, the ones who often feel voiceless in a system that seems stacked against them. So he joined Hill & Associates in 2021 and brought all that insider knowledge with him.

Minos now focuses on motor vehicle accidents, construction injuries, dram shop law, workplace injuries, and premises liability. He’s licensed to practice in federal and state courts across Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and he even appears before the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. He’s sharp, strategic, and totally focused on leveling the playing field for his clients.

Max I. Goldberg 

Max Goldberg joined our firm in 2021, but he came in swinging. If you’ve been hurt because someone else didn’t do their job, whether it was a property owner, bar, or transit company, Max is the guy who’ll make sure they’re held accountable.

He’s a seasoned litigator with experience handling complex injury cases from start to finish, all the way to arbitration and trial.

Max has represented people injured in rideshare accidents (Uber/Lyft), SEPTA-related incidents, slip and fall cases, and dram shop claims involving alcohol-related negligence.

He’s admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and federal courts in the region, and he’s not afraid to take on tough opponents. Max is known for his energy, thorough preparation, and deep commitment to each and every client he works with.

Margarita Ortiz

Margarita Ortiz is one of the most inspiring success stories in our firm. She started with us as an administrative assistant in 2007, learning the ropes, handling paperwork, and supporting our attorneys behind the scenes. But she didn’t stop there.

While working full-time, Margarita studied paralegal and accounting at Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia. Her drive, work ethic, and natural talent stood out, and today she’s one of our trusted personal injury attorneys.
